DCWC Nepal

Everest Base Camp & Kala Pattar Trek 2016

More than ever Nepal needs our help. Nepal needs tourists and Nepal needs a whole lot of rebuilding. DCWC Nepal (UK)
has been raising funds for Nepal since 2002 and in that time has funded 15 schools and a hospital. Since the two
earthquakes in April and May of 2015 there has been mass destruction of property in the regions we work in and the
rebuilding program is going to be a very long and costly project. Nearly all the homes and schools in our project areas of
Kavre, Ramechhap, Dolakha and Sindhupalchowk have been devastated. Even the first floor of our Hospital has had to
be almost entirely rebuilt. By joining us on our trek you will be helping Nepal get back on its feet whilst experiencing
an unforgettable journey to the highest mountain in the world Mount Everest.

There is no place on earth, you will find such a spectacular, beautiful landscape as you will in Nepal. Not only will you
find the highest mountain on the planet, Mount Everest, you will also find eight of the ten highest mountains in the
world. The Himalayan spine follows Nepal’s northern border from west to east giving the country spectacular vistas from
one end to the other. In amongst this spectacular landscape you will find thousands of Buddhist and Hindu Temples
and Monasteries. The Mountainous terrain is adorned with Prayer flags, Stupas and Mani stones, testimony to the
devotion in which the Nepalese worship their Gods and Goddesses. In Kathmandu you will find the historical remnants
of the three kingdoms of Kantipur (Kathmandu), Lalitpur (Patan) and Bhaktapur. The trek is designed to be at Base Camp
when all the expeditions are there, attempting to Summit the mountain. This is the only time of the year that you
are able to witness such a spectacle.

DCWC Nepal has been running treks into the Everest region since 2004. We create a very personalised trip which is
aimed at providing you with the fullest experience of both the mountains, and the Kathmandu Valley. We also include
an optional visit to one of our projects which most find one of the most enjoyable parts of the trip

The cost of the trek is £1595 (excluding international flights). We don't specify an amount of sponsorship we require
you to raise, as each person has different capabilities for raising funds. However we do ask you try to raise a minimum
£500 to allow us to make the trek worthwhile. If we have enough participants we will also include a UK based guide.

Please note that included in the £1595 is all your food and hot drinks in the mountains. Many treks this is an extra cost
which can add a good few hundred pounds to your budget, as food is a lot more expensive in the mountains. The cost
includes your internal flights, accommodation in Kathmandu and mountains and all entry fees to Tourist sites.
